Licking Soil & Water rents several pieces of conservation equipment (listed below). Please stop by our office at 771 East Main Street, Suite 100, Newark, Ohio 43055 or call us at 740-670-5330 for availability of each.  Proof of insurance is needed prior to renting equipment (except Dibble Bars).

 

John Deere 1590 No-Till Drill

John Deere No-Till Drill

A  John Deere 1590 drill, 10 feet wide is available for rent, and can be used for planting soybeans, oats, wheat, alfalfa, grasses, etc. We recommend that a tractor with at least 85 horsepower be used to operate the drill.  This drill is available for $12.00/acre with a five-acre minimum.  A minimum charge of a $60.00 deposit (subtracted off total) is required and all renters must sign a rental contract and provide proof of insurance prior to taking possession of the drill.  Requires 3/4-ton pickup truck with heavy-duty hitch and a 7/8-inch or 15/16-inch hitchpin for transport.  Click here for a No-Till Drill Rental Agreement form (2 pages).  


 

 

Great Plains 706 No-Till Drill

Great Plains Drill

A Great Plains 706NT no-till drill, 7 feet wide, for warm season grasses is available for rent.  It can be used for planting warm season grasses (switch, blue stem and gamma grasses), cool season grasses (clover, timothy, orchard grass and alfalfa) and small grains ( soybeans, wheat and oats). We recommend that a tractor with at least 55 horsepower and hydraulic system be used to operate the drill. This drill is available for $12.00 per acre with a five-acre minimum.  A minimum charge of $60.00 deposit (subtracted off total) is required and all renters must sign a rental contract and provide proof of insurance prior to taking possession of the drill.  Requires full-size pickup truck with heavy-duty hitch and a 3/4-inch or 15/16-inch straight-pin for transport.  Click here for a No-Till Drill Rental Agreement form (2 pages).


 

Straw Mulcher

A portable straw mulcher is available for $60.00/day. A $60.00 deposit (covers first day) is required. Townships ONLY can use the mulcher once at no charge. Planting/Dibble Bar

Dibble bars are available for loan, but must be returned within ten (10) days.  Dibble bars can be used for planting trees more efficiently than a hand shovel.  Bar is 38" long.  Blade is 3" wide x 10-1/4" long, 3/4" wide at top, tapering to a thin wedge.
